CENTURY Martial Arts – A History of Combat Sports: Founded in 1976 by American martial arts master Michael Dillard, Century began as a one-man operation. Since then, we have grown into the global market leader for combat sports equipment. Along the way, Century has continuously evolved, creating and successfully establishing many innovations for the combat sports market.

As pioneers in the sports sector, we were the first martial arts company to establish an online presence and be readily available to our customers online with our own website. In addition, we have product innovations that are still considered the most respected and renowned freestanding punching bags, such as the Wavemaster® and BOB® Body Opponent-Bag product lines. Thanks to their popularity, BOB® and BOB XL® bags, in particular, appear regularly in television shows and Hollywood blockbusters such as "The Office," "Deadpool," "Justified," "Horrible Bosses," "Parks and Recreation," "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot," "Elementary," "Law & Order: SVU," and "Cobra Kai"—and these are just a few examples!

As a pioneering company, Century revolutionized the combat sports and fitness market back in 1995 by introducing the Original Wavemaster®, the world's first freestanding punching bag. This ushered in a new era of training products for home gyms, as well as for all martial arts schools and fitness studios. Market-leading innovations – while everyone else fell by the wayside!

Unlike other companies that simply reuse old designs or resell imported designs, Century has its own research and development team. Our R&D team works at company headquarters, designing and developing new products. Thanks to them, Century has always been at the forefront of combat sports equipment, with significant innovations such as the original Wavemaster® freestanding punching bag , the BOB® body opponent bag , and the Versys™ series .

In 2001, Century founded the Martial Arts Industry Association (MAIA) to support the growth of schools and the promotion of martial arts. Our company founder, Mike Dillard, believed that martial arts could transform lives and communities for the better. He made it a priority to establish MAIA, an organization that contributes to the spread of martial arts by actively and strategically supporting schools in their development.

MAIA's consultants act as business and legal advisors to member schools. Additionally, the website offers further resources, including lesson plans for classroom and community use. Century and MAIA jointly host the annual Martial Arts SuperShow, the world's largest trade show and educational event in the martial arts industry!

Century Martial Arts Europe is the official representative and partner of MAIA in Europe. The Martial Arts Supershow, sponsored and co-hosted by Century Martial Arts and MAIA, is an annual event and the largest in the industry. Thousands of school owners and instructors have attended the SuperShow's trade show and business seminars, successfully applying what they learned to improve their schools.

At the SuperShow, you'll find not only big names in the business world but also martial arts legends like Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Ricardo Liborio, Ernie Reyes Sr. and Jr., and many others. In the training seminars, participants have the opportunity to train alongside their martial arts heroes!

The first official "Martial Arts SuperShow Europe" took place in August 2018 at the Westfalenhalle in Berlin, under the direction of Markus Liedtke, Managing Director of Century Martial Arts Europe.

If you've followed UFC fights, you're probably already familiar with Century products. In 2006, Century partnered with the UFC® and became their manufacturer of branded combat sports equipment, including the official gloves worn in the Octagon®.

Century partnered with MMA coaches Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn to work on product testing and innovation. Their fighters tested Century products and provided us with firsthand feedback. Three years later, we approached Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend and American Top Team co-founder Ricardo Liborio to arrange a collaboration. Century became his official equipment and apparel supplier, and we worked closely with him to design and create the '96 EspecialGi, named in honor of his victory at the 1996 IBJJF Championships.

In 2015, we entered into a partnership with Team Paul Mitchell, the longest-running sport karate team, which consists exclusively of athletes at the highest level worldwide.

Over the years, Century has also collaborated with TapouT®, Adidas®, PHIT (Personal Health Investment Today) America and the IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation), as well as with dozens of individual martial artists.

We always enjoy accompanying and supporting these amazing and talented martial artists on their journey. Actively promoting and supporting martial arts is one of our most important pillars. The resulting collaboration with all the coaches, competitors, and teams not only continuously expands our martial arts community but also enriches us with valuable experience that we can incorporate into our products.

Century Martial Arts Europe is also strengthening its collaboration with European martial artists, professional athletes, and young talents whom we want to support together with Century. We operate an affiliate program with a select group of European martial artists.

Furthermore, as Century Martial Arts Europe, we collaborate with and support numerous European martial artists, professional athletes, and young talents. Our affiliate program was launched with a select group of European martial artists and is consistently fully booked.
